Unveiled: YOO on the Park’s Pricey Rents in Midtown Atlanta

From atlanta.curbed.com, June 20, 2016

Developers have said this is a new level of Atlanta luxury. Accordingly, some apartments will ask for more than $5,000 monthly.

Before the YOO on the Park tower even broke ground on 13th Street in Midtown, developers were talking a big game about how the project would offer sophistication, elegance, next-gen technology, and world-class amenities like Atlanta had never seen, boosting the city’s rental scene to the league of great international cities.

And now they’ve got the big prices to match.

Apartments.com gives a preview of what pre-leasers can expect to fork over for the coveted brand’s lifestyle in a 25-story tower up the street from Piedmont Park. Some rents will be flirting with the $3-per-square-foot benchmark, which was once thought impossible anywhere in Atlanta.

Let’s start at the top, where the priciest units will be asking $5,076 per month. That gets two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 1,923 square feet.

That $5,000+ number is more expensive than the going rate for any of the three-bedroom penthousesatop Cyan on Peachtree — a Buckhead tower that sent shivers up the spines of frugal Atlanta renters when it debuted last year. But the Cyan units are smaller by several hundred square feet.

Elsewhere in the YOO building, one-bedroom units will start at $2,112. That buys 744 square feet.

The smallest options are the 540-square-foot studios, which begin at $1,510. That’s about on par with Cyan on Peachtree. Interestingly, slightly larger studios (575 square feet) at Ponce City Market start at more than $200 more per month.
